That's exactly what I thought when I saw the new Star Trek earlier this summer. The badguys used a drill to get to the core of the planet to destroy it...shit, the Death Star can do that in half a second with the press of a button.

Actually the PT has many special effects and so does the OT considering they re-released it with better effects

This, but I find myself not really enjoying Episodes I-III. I still watch the original trilogy, but find myself fast forwarding a lot to my favorite parts.
