It was meant to be a psychological exploration, and that's what it was. Not the movie's fault you were expecting something that it wasn't interested in being.

Your overly simplistic and flawed summary of the film shows that you didn't understand the point of the film.

I knew what the movie was about going in, I wasn't expecting Saving Private Ryan, I just didn't like it. I got it, I just didn't like it.

Mhm cuz that's all I care about 🙄

I liked Platoon. And as for the Brad Pitt thing, he's a good actor.

how does that help prove your point? platoon is a completely different type of movie with a completely different point of view and direction. theyre not comparable at all... thats like comparing the dark knight to sherlock holmes because they both have "detective work" in them 😐

There doesn't have to be a point, I don't need points to prove why I think it's shit, I just think it's a shit movie that was boring. Why is it such a big deal that I didn't like it? OK, maybe my saying it was shit was too much, I retract that. I just.....didn't like it. Better?

Platoon was, as BF just posted, a "psychological exploration" of sorts, it was more than just a "war movie."

i dont have a problem with you thinking it was shit, i just think your reasons for thinking its shit is shit... going off of this

It was a few Army guys looking for and disarming bombs, getting drunk, punching one another, buying DVD's, blah.

i repsect your opinion though regardless ✅

Well, what else was there? I did like the sniper scene, that was badass, and the scene where James was disarming the bomb in the car, but the rest was a train wreck of nonsense. Renner was great in 28 weeks later, he was the only bright spot in this movie.

If I really wanted to know what the life of a EOD was like, then I would have watched a documentary on it.

hows that the movies fault though? the point of the movie was to show how different people react to the stresses of war and what the general life of an EOD is in Iraq. it did both of these perfectly... just because you didnt want to see what an EOD's life looks like doesnt mean the movie itself failed in anything...

Which part? The last one? I was just saying that if the point of the movie was to show what it was like to be an EOD, a documentary could have been watched.

RJ blows.

Does anyone take any notice of someone who lists one of their favourite films as Queen of the Damned?
