I'm not saying Batman isn't a big guy; I'm saying Castle has always been portrayed as big or bigger than Batman has on a more consistent basis. It was a pain in the ass to gather these, but here are a few pics of each over the years and with different artists. I tried to omit as many non-canon appearances and inexcusably poor drawings as I could.

Batman is leaner than Castle while retaining his muscle mass. He's got a similar build as Bruce Lee, but on a larger scale. Castle is bulky solid muscle. Batman is more athletic and his crosstraining might make him stronger overall. While Castle does do some crosstraining, his main focus is upper body strength, which what's needed to succeed in armwrestling.

THIS IS MY MAIN ARGUMENT IN THIS THREAD: Batman has greater strength feats, but show the pictures above to someone who knows nothing about comics, and they'd more than likely assume Castle is stronger.

Feats and accomplishments are specific information about their abilities. Basic info would cover training habits in general. Batman splits his time between weightlifting, cardio, calisthenics, acrobatics/gymnastics, and fighting. Castle's main training focus is strength training (weightlifting and calisthenics), but trains in cardio and h2h to a lesser degree than Batman.

Castle is always on the run, yet still manages to get his training in. He's got his hideouts across the country, so it's not like he sleeps in his van or a bridge underpass. Like I said before, both men spend most of their time on the move to kick the crap out of their next victim.

There are only 24 hours in a day, and they both have to stop to eat or sleep. Difference is, Batman splits the rest of his free time at home between exercise, h2h training, equipment maintenance/development, and researching crimes.

Castle exercises, occasionally does h2h training, cleans his guns, and goes back to work. And yes, he trains for physical confrontations as well.

Sorry, Hammer... but that was one big logical abortion. Yeah, Batman can afford top doctors, hospital visits, expensive medications and treatments, but his body still needs time to heal from his injuries. Castle knows a great deal more about first aid than the average person, and treats his own wounds. It may take him longer to fully recover from his injuries than Batman, but they've never caused any permanent debilitating damage. We have yet to see the Punisher limping because of some injury he sustained years ago.

I'm not sure if they've ever been drawn by the same artist for a lengthy run, but I don't think I could be bothered to research it too much.

I know Jim Lee has done some awesome work on Batman recently. I found a page full of Punisher sketches he did in the early 90s, but his look varies between sketches.
