Saw also takes a totally different direction than Se7en. Se7en was a crime thriller. Saw is a straight-out horror movie. Saw and Se7en have similarities, yes. But calling Saw a ripoff of Se7en is like calling Family Guy a ripoff of The Simpsons.
That said, I'm looking forward to Saw VI.
Those that say this series has been milked, killed, whatever you wanna call it, needs to remember how many Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Hellraiser movies there are. The Saw series has just now exceded the number of Child's Play movies and tying with the Leprechaun series.
And outside of the horror genre, nobody says that James Bond has been beaten to death, and there are more than 20 of those movies and counting.

no not really I thought they should have quit after the first one IMO the thing what made the movie so good was the suprising end, the feact that something you once look at it and then totally ignore and then BAM! he stands up und was the real man behind all of this, in the ther movies it was more like waiting for the turning point, ok the traps/kills were better but that's not what made Saw so good for me (Jigsaw on the ground)

well on a few I agree and on others I don't, ANoE,Ft13 evolved in a way like Freddys becoming more like a cruel clown and Jason turned into a Zombie/Demon, while Halloween has always been the same what I really dislike and Hellraiser IMO became absolute Bullsh!t after part 4 same goes for Childs Play after part 3 und Leprechaun after 3.
Well Saw tries to stay in it's concept while bringing up dozens of flashbacks and storys from the past or surprisingly appaering characters that suddenly told that were always around, I would have buyed it for 1 or 2 sequels but 5!?!? and if the rumor is true (what I hope it's not, but afraid of it is) I think it's going into ridiculous dimensons.

100% agreed

That's what I adore about the first Saw, the twist at the end, even though I already knew about it when going to see it, still thought it was fantastic.Explain in spoilers please.
with rumor I meant the rumor of a 7th part, I only knew about 6
and yeah the first one was totally awesome and then (in the sequels) I was just waiting and expected the unexpected, not really exciting
this aint a friday 13th or seven topic.
I have been looking forward to seeing Saw 6 for a while now. I am actually shocked that they are makin a 7th. They did say they would stop after 6 but with the amount of money they are making from each movie, they have every right to continue.
$10m it roughly costs to make each movie, and they each gross well over the £100m mark.
The stories have dried up. Saw 1 to 3 have had fantastic endings, sheer class. But the 4th and 5th endings were a let-down. Especially the 5th, i was left gutted and a little bit miffed.
I have to keep up the tradition. In Each of the past 5 movies I have went to see, each with a different girlfriend, we end up breaking up (nothing to do with the film, but its still coincidense)
