Just so he doesn't miss it. Notice how Adam was trying to convince him he was mistaken and Supes was actually pissed for a while.

Stop posting only the decent shots of supes, by the end of the fight supes was rageing and his outfit was torn apart. Ba never broke a sweat and wasnt hardly even trying to fight supes.

Also notice that when Superman finally got serious "Now, it's time to end this", Black Adam suddenly realized the only thing he could do was stand down himself? Nice tactic, considering the rest of the time, he was trying to get Superman to back down. Wisdom of the gods indeed. It saved him from a beat-down.
Black Adam and Superman may not have been going all out, but they certainly weren't pulling the punches either.

he wasn't fighting, though, so his strength isn't an issue, imo. he even lets superman hit him at one point.
superman still hurt him when he punched him, as adam would still hurt superman when he punches him.
