He probably means The Idiot (You won't find him on Wikipedia only Batman fans of many years would know him) who happens to be a dangerous villain that eats people's minds. But you have to eat the idiot root in order to fight him.

Because we all know Batman is the crowning jewel of Detective skills. He is most likely referring to the villain known as The Idiot...I mean only a real babbling idiot would comment like that of The Bat-god....anywhoo...this thread is for comic books characters that are more duh-duh type.

lol @ Jeph Loeb.

See, it was a joke.

Because Hulk has varied in intelligence, so it doesn't really count to call him an idiot. He's varied from competent, to genius. to savage. Painting him with the same brush, especially because you have a grudge against the character and a person who likes him, is just silly. Not as silly as putting that guy on ignore so that you can insult him without seeing the replies. Only to see them via quotes and be so overcome with the grudge that you reply anyway.

Still, some people are just sad like that with carrying grudges for characters. Going so far as to insult me personally because of a debate over comic characters.

Reported, WD. It's going to be less easy for you to get away with now you're not a mod.

No need to blow this up into something it doesn't need to be. WD, it was clearly a joke. No need to call him a babbling idiot. Batdude's response was the appropriate one.

Will do as you say Digi.

However, it is quite clear Hulk was indeed a babbling idiot. That's the way Jack Kirby originally wrote him. However, Dr. Bruce Banner is a respectable well liked character. He's the opposite of that atrocity of Hulk. Jack Kirby wrote the Hulk quite perfectly.

See for yourself.

I want no hostility... 😇

Jack Kirby wasn't and isn't the only person to write Hulk, you do realise that.

As I said, don't judge a character based on one writer. Regardless of what he was intended to be, he has changed.

That said, Hulk was never what you'd call an idiot. He was never stupid, because that implies actual idiocy. He was just savage.

Besides, isn't this comic books? Not cartoons/shows? Cos I can just grab Adam West with his shark-repellent spray; idiocy indeed.

For all his skill with numbers and science, Reed Richards is still kinda dumb in the people skills department.
His whole rationale behind Civil War, was an equation he believed predicted the future of all crimefighters, and collateral damage that would happen? Wasn't exactly right, was he?
It's slowly dawned on him that people are not equations to work out.

Well, Reed Richards as well as other Marvel comic character aren't at fault for brouhaha of Civil War.

Ahhh...the wonderful shark repellent comments. Well, once again it shows the supreme intelligence of Batman. He was flying into the sea and as usual prepare for any sea creatures. He packed the Bat-copter with Barracuda, Whale, Manta Ray, and most obvious the Shark repellent...Once again Batman prepares for everything...yup reading Hulk gets "smash puny tanks" mentality.

Kneel to the Bat-god.

😂

Whales are the biggest threat to humanity.

or the lack of them. Star Trek IV says so.

Hulk doesn't need to prepare for that because none of it bothers him. There's also that.

Yup! Wales are a threat....wait...(reads more carefully) Oh! Whales. My bad.

Hulk is up there... not banner. just the hulk part... "HULK SMASH PUNY MAN!" Isn't the most intelligent rational.. but then his brains weren't part of the Hulks appeal.

Silver Surfer
Thor

2 guys who could do so much more than they typically do, but often don't, substituting massive amounts of hi-falootin' monologuing instead.

A necessity of their power level, which can largely be attributed to PIS. Such is the curse of any high-powered member of a mixed team....in Thor's case at least. Thor ending battles instantly wouldn't make for good Avengers comics. Thus, unwarranted jobbing. But not stupidity.

Indeed. It's the same reason why Flash comics last more than a few panels. I was being more figurative than literal with "stupidity." Pretty stupid of me, huh... 😉

They both have moments though.

I have to agree and disagree on Surfer, but that's for another thread.

I think Toad is obviously one of them. Pyro was always a bit of a numbskull.

Kiddin' me?

Since Prosh, Toad is probably one of the more intelligent brotherhood guys.

Batman 😏
