The Spectre seems to have limitations.

He can't do anything outside the guidance of The Presence, and he can't kill beings with no sin or soul (ie. King of Tears)

There will probably be some stupid explination on why Spectre can't beat him. ermm

...Has it been stated who is behind the Black Lanterns yet? I thought that, being the battery for the Black Lanterns, that AM would be. But if a crippled AM is powerful enough to override Spectre's control of his host...that's kind of lame.
