Lucas talks EpIII and beyond.

GL stated that as he was writing the script to ESB, that he realized no matter how many films he made, he couldn't write about everything and everyone in the SW galaxy. Therefore, he left it up to dedicated SF authors to write more stories about SW. This is the origin of EU.

That's because the idea grew and grew.

A new hope?

the sequel

A New Hope 2, the Revenge of Vader!

As much as I want him to make more Star Wars movies, I can't wait to see what he does next.

The best part about that interview is how he doesn't give a dam about what any critics say.

he never did care about those critics

Even when they DO have a point.

Critics NEVER have a point. "Critic" is the most pointless job on the planet.

that's a bit on the cynical side...but it's prob true enough

Sometimes critics do have a point, at least when they say a film is dull.
Then it sometimes happens they are right

Indeed. It might be a coincidence, but they would technically be right.

Well, I value the opinions of critics. You need SOME way to judge the quality of things that are coming for you cannot simply see everything there is, and any review of something is always going to be critically biased.

I always find it best just to 'calibrate' yourself to a couple of critics, in that you can always be sure where you are likely to disagree with them on something, and make use of their services accordingly.

Critics have done much to promote films that would otherwise have been ignored- for example, virtually the entire PR machine behind Memento was it's critical acclaim.

never bothered to see Memento because of the critic in the local paper spoke highly of it

It is a film that deserved watching, and it was only watched because of the critical reaction.

Interesting way of saving a film by way of editing.
