I just find Elena stupid. She had no reason to drive in that car and die in the explosion with Damon, and guess what? If Bonnie hadn't had to bring Elena back she might of had enough juice to bring one more person back(Damon) before that other guy who is the brother of the witch stopped his sister from continuing the magic. Good job and..why do men even like her?! She's pretty, sure, but not "make everyone act like a moron" pretty.
At least Alaric is back though.

"Evil" Damon was an absolute joke.
Nah, he had his moments, but this is very very early in season 1 I'm talking about. The one who killed the football coach just to make a point.
All the other leads minus Bonnie suck.
Bonnie's constant sacrificing of herself is getting old though. I almost think she wants to die.
The travelers were the worst TVD villains ever. The show became a soap opera.
It is amusing that in it's one season "The Originals" has already surpassed TVD in quality.

Nina Dobrev is hot but her looks have faded on the show as of lately.
Alaric's character will get assassinated as well.
I am talking about the S5 Damon. He was just...
LOL true she is there to serve.
It's pretty good though I am not sure if it is on TVD S2's quality.
I don't know, I think Rick is around to stay. He essentially left the show because the actor was going to star in a series called "Cult" but when that utterly failed and got cancelled..he is back and as more then a guest star. So I hope they don't kill him off. I also hope they don't just not mention him next season, since in character it would make zero sense for him to leave Mystic Falls.
Here is to hoping Stefan hooks up with Caroline next season. Anything to fully end this horrible love triangle.
Had to do some hunting to find this, been a while I see since anyone replied. Well, it's nearing the end of the 6th season now.
All I have to say is..some of the storylines are getting tiresome. We have yet another "characters turned their humanity off" storyline. It's pretty much as if nobody in Mystic Falls ever learned to cope with tragedy. When it happens, they either turn off their emotions or mind rape the memories away.
They do anything so they don't have to deal with it. There are no surprises, we know these characters will eventually turn their emotions back on, and we know that prior to that happening they will probably do something evil they can feel super guilty about once they turn on their emotions.
That is also another thing, the "turning off your emotions" has never made sense because we've seen characters turn their emotions back on. However, if you were truly emotionless then you'd never ever get the desire to gain your emotions back. Makes about as much sense as when Spike from Buffy The Vampire Slayer willingly sought out to get his friggin soul back.
There is also something kind of funny about all this. Elena is in love with Damon, and they are dating. To put it another way: Elena is dating a guy who repeatedly raped her friend. Yet whenever Caroline talks about how she doesn't like Damon people tend to look at her like she is being stupid about it.
Also WHY the hell has someone not put a damn stake through Enzo's heart yet?
Also you have to love Stefan and the speech he gave Caroline in the latest episode about ruining her life because she made him turn his humanity off. That was friggin beautiful. Every now and then Stefan reminds the audience that he's pretty much the most f*cked up vampire we've seen on the series. Stefan makes "evil Damon" look like a damn saint.
It's rare, but this is one of those cases where I literally wanted to shake this characters damn hand and tell him "Bravo!". It was some epic ownage.

You just bury your remorse deep enough that your humanity usually doesn't bother you, but it's still there. Actually, Kai when he was truly a sociopath was more emotionless (w/o empathy) than vampires w/ the switch turned off.

Yeah, but they keep on still saying they are "turning off their humanity".
Their plan to get Stefan to switch his humanity back on by freeing their mother also didn't make much sense. They had no idea she wasn't alone in the prison or that she had supposedly "reformed". Damon knew she was a ripper, so I don't see why he thought Stefan seeing his mother as a murderous vampire would be the thing to turn his humanity back on.
Stefan and Caroline are now killing people for no real reason..which they both admitted is most likely going to end with them being forcibly captured and dried out by their friends.

Stefan loved his mother, her being back would make him remember that emotion, love.
Caroline doesn't want to kill anyone, Stefan wants to get revenge on her by making her kill so when she regains her humanity she'll feel as shitty as him when he regains his. This was explained in the episode.

Great news guys, the girl who plays Elena is leaving the show after this season! HELL YES. Kid who plays Tyler is also leaving, I'm pretty meh on that, but so long Elena..we don't have to suffer through anymore terrible storylines involving you and your love of serial killers

It might make him remember that love assuming nobody ever mentions the fact she is a ripper who purposely left her family behind.

Dude, there is no way this is the stupidest show. Not when we have seemingly 1,000 different types of CSI and Law and Order shows out there currently airing. Or stupid shows like "The Royals".
It's not the best show ever, but it's not even in the top 3 worst shows currently airing on the CW, let alone all of tv.
saw a headline yesterday that said Nina is leaving the show so clicked it, i actually stopped watching the show last seaosn... as i read, i saw that there are apparently now 4 different dopplegangers. ctfu.
Part of me wanted to watch the show again just to see how well (or not so) Nina pulls that off.
Originally posted by SurturPretty sure they spoke about her being a ripper who left her family might mess up their plan.

This show has been shit for years anyway.

There were like 4 different dopplegangers...for like one or two episodes. They are all dead now, including Katherine. Now Elena will be gone as well. These are positive changes.

Yeah, but the storyline with Stefan and Caroline has made it slightly better even though they are repeating the "characters turn off their humanity" thing. That combined with the fact we will have no more Elena is nothing but a good thing.
