I am not sure I could get into a movie like this anymore. After the south park episode "the startling" I just dont take 1st person camera movies seriously anymore. I always picture the main character pulling a Randy Marsh with the camera.

Try to think of it as a documentary

Going to see it tonight at mid. Finally go it in my area. I'll weigh in afterwards.

For real this time is coming to my city.....WOOT!

Went to see this earlier. For an Indie movie it's well made but as a horror movie i thought it was rather boring. It's essentially a feature length episode of "A haunting" or any other horror documentary. I'd say it's worth seeing but if you're a seasoned horror fan you should probably wait for dvd. I thought there were a few genuinely creepy scenes. All of the paranormal encounters are created to seem as realistic as possible. If you've ever seen a tv show about paranormal encounters this is the type of stuff you're in store for in this movie...,doors closing, footsteps, whispers and footprints. i think the movie definitely lacked a big reveal...,one big scene that is designed to shock and stay with you. I think they tried to accomplish this with the ending but for me it felt out of place and anticlimactic.

You need to watch this film in front of a good television, in your own home, in the dark. That would be a better atmosphere. If you are the kind, you would be wondering about your house while viewing it.

Unlike in a big cinema.

HEHEHEHE...cant say why I am giggling like a kid at Christmas.
...but what Mild said is very true.

😖hifty:

I must say after seeing the midnight show it was quite good. I loved the ending. Very creepy and the scariest movie I'd seen in quite some time.

The movie was fun, boring at times, but definitely gave me a lasting creeped out feeling. The ending was ehhh, meant for Hollywood audiences. But it was good

Yes, but it kept building and was overall a very good scary movie. This shows how little special effects contribute to being creeped out.

I watched this movie. I thought it was pretty slow at first. When the activity really picked up though I thought it was pretty funny. Like half the people in the theater were laughing. The ending really didn't help when minutes earlier I suggested the villain was a vampire who was also a shark.

Just saw this tonight. I thought it was brilliant. There is a genuinely creepy feel to this movie. The ending was a bit...sudden...But I was down with it.

Apparently there are two alternate endings. One is actually on high quality on youtube.

I can only find one:

Spoiler:
Where she comes back in bloody with a knife and then sits on the bedroom floor rocking for a long time, until a friend calls the police and they shoot her as she goes at them with the knife.

Can somebody help me find the other alternate?

Eventually downloaded it.

It was pretty meh. I understand that it might have been creepier if I had seen it in the theatres, but common. Incredibly predictable end and some untapped potential.

I heard that there is 3 endings for this....

Really? That's awesome. I will have to wait until dvd to see the other two as it will kill it watching it on my pc. Being in the proper environment is key when watching something like this.

I agree. I cant help but wish I would have waited and watched this by myself in a darkened room. It would have completely freaked me out. The audience of the film definitely took away from its truly creepy moments. I still think this film is fantastic.

You can see information on the different endings here, I haven't seen the film but I've seen the

Spoiler:
police shooting the woman alternative ending,
but I think they should have gone with the ending where
Spoiler:
she comes up after killing her husband and then coming towards the camera and killing herself by slitting her throat
compared to I think the silly
Spoiler:
running towards the camera or something with the knife and it cutting
?

The movies should be the proper place to watch these film 😐

Once you complain about how it's not suited for your computer, you lose all rights to claim that it would be better on TV. You're agreeing with someone who claims watching it on PC will ruin the experience, and claiming that it would be better to watch on TV.

Saw this tonight. Loved it, thought it was brilliant. And for the record, I think pretty much all the Horror movies are stupid. Backfire mentioned The Descent, I thought that movies was really stupid and wasn't scared at all, but Paranormal Activity was really good, and really creepy. If I would have watched this by myself in my house I would have sh*t my pants and heard all kind of noises, but watching it in the theater did not make it any worse IMO.

Actually, I'm only agreeing with the fact that he states watching this in the proper environment is important.

IMO the proper environment to watch this is in a dark room by yourself. At the cinema the crowd reactions annoyed me.

I agree, environment can be everything. A home theatre set would trump the cinema. Even if they don't talk, things become less frightening when you're number #26 on the 10th row being scared.
