Actually, this is a common misconception. Wolverine had plenty of time to heal before fighting Mr X. He had time to go home, change his clothes (into the exact outfit he was wearing lol!) and walk to Xs location.
Unless you think that Logans clothes also have a healing factor?

Same reason why the Flash doesn't punch everyone in 0.0001 second, or Apocalypse forgets half of his powers. Plot. It looks far more badass to show Batman doing h2h.
Not to mention, he fights mobs a lot of the time. Once you've used your foam pellets, you're kinda screwed if Killer Croc shows up later that night.
