A "Gunman" near Bungie Studios

http://kotaku.com/5351721/police-swarm-to-bungie-on-wepaons-call-during-kotaku-visit

Around the neighborhood, people thought they saw a gunman wielding an MK-47 and so they dialed 911 and the police showed up to investigate. The gunman was found near Bungie Studios and the cops managed to catch him but to their surprise, the "gunman" was actually a Bungie employee who was actually wielding a replica of a sniper rifle from the Halo games. There were no charges and the police told him and Bungie to transport the gun more discretely in the future.

They thought it was an AK-47!

😆 😆

😆

Let's put into perspective how retarded it is that someone thought this was an AK-47:

holy shit thats a huge rifle.

considering one magazie only has four shots... those must be some bigass rounds.

edit- did some research. theyre designed to be anti-tank rounds. 😂

That has to be an AK!

What I don't understand is how people mistook this:

They were too busy cowering in their closets to pay close attention.

What's the big deal? That gun looks real enough. It definitely looks real enough to get you shot. Maybe the person who made this phone call to 911 doesn't have a life that revolves around guns. Maybe they don't know about bungie studios. We do live in a world where people use Sniper Rifles to murder random people. Owning and transporting firearms is very serious. It is supposed to be taken serious and with responsibility so that things like this don't happen. I'm not saying that this is the dudes fault but i'm willing to bet he wasn't using any type of discretion when transporting that gun.

given it is not a real firearm, he was not required to take any discretion

agreed though, anyone who things the caller should have just "known" it wasn't a real weapon is wrong.

This seems less than newsworthy to me.
