Bane speaks 9 languages, including a dead one, is an expert strategist who deduced Batman's identity and broke him, not only through strength but also through a brilliant plan.

Bane is also a master escape artist who has escaped from Ras Al Ghul's dungeon, broken into his fortress and beat Ras at chess. He is also considered to be the most dangerous criminal in Gotham, except for Joker.

And while knowing 9 languages IS impressive it doesnt really make one smarter than someone who knows less languages, i mean Deadpool knows more languages than Pete, but he isn't exactly as smart as Parker. Also I can think of TWO times when Peter solved some kind of problem using his brain faster than Reed Richards. Also as far as I remember Richards said that Parker is as smart as he was at his age. Good points, but remember this scenario involves Peter before he really became Spiderman. Meaning he isn't as mature or as well-educated as he was when the incidents you mentioned occured.

Heck, there's also the fact that he won't have the confidence he'd have later since he hasn't won any battles against dangerous opponents at this point.

Or it could work from the opposite angle; Peter goes into the fight cocky with his new-found powers and certain he can handle a (he thinks) regular guy and loses because he underestimates Bane.

Parker is smart but he will never be a tactician on the level of Bane or Batman.
