Siege: Invasion of Asgard [ Disscssion Thread]

Siege: Invasion of Asgard

The Story: Beginning with the ravaging affects of Avengers Disassembled and following the aftermaths of House of M, Civil War and Secret Invasion, culminating with the evil Reign of Norman Osborn, the Marvel Universe has been left with its greatest villains holding more power and control than ever before. On the brink of madness, Osborn, in his final bid to take total control, targets the final obstacle in his mission…Asgard. Events are set in motion forcing our heroes to put aside the deep rifts that have grown over the past seven years. Opposing them stand a horde of evil that has begun to take down the gods of the Golden Realm! SIEGE will rock the foundations of every super hero, villain and team in the Marvel Universe. As an era ends, one word will ring above all others…”SIEGE.”

Who will aide Thor, Captain America, Iron Man?

Avengers Assembled!!!!!

Norman is going to be sorry he messed with Thor & Asgard.
Heck, he can't even trust Loki to back him up.

looks good

At last an Avengers reunion as it should be. No more B rated teams. Just the original Avengers!

P.S. bring Wanda back too

I must admit, I don't understand Marvel when they do this.

"We'll just spoil our own events in the synopsis for an upcoming one.".

Smart, Marvel.

I hope this is the last event from Bendis he needs to give it a rest.

Wait, I thought Asgard had relocated to Latveria. So Osborn would have to go to war with Doom

That's the point I'd imagine.

Osborn is eventually going to go off the deep end and do something both massively epic and massively stupid.

Thor's been (Last I heard, maybe Rage or Kris can correct me here) out of favour in Asgard for a while. What better way for him to redeem himself? I don't know quite if Loki will get what's coming to him, but we'll see.

It looks like they're actually going the right way with this. They've had a rather awesome series of massive events that intertwine (Civil War, Secret Invasion, Dark Reign), and they're going to end it with a massive war in the most epic stage possible.

I don't mind paying the money to follow this if it delivers. If this is an anti-climax, Marvel will be receiving significant amounts of my money until they can prove they know how to start handling their titles.

Especially if they're gonna raise the prices.

I will say, though, that after Siege they definitely just need to leave the events alone until Winter 2010 at least.

See the cover of the issue, where Taskmaster seems to be challenging (an angry looking )Thor? DUDE - JUST RUN! 😛

I knew Asgard has been looking like Minas Tirith since it's return for a reason. Now we can see a real Return Of The King type siege...
And maybe, its finally time...for Thor vs. Sentry.bangin

It's because Tasky is hardcore xD

I hope this event shows Ares actually having some form of loyalty or integrity, I mean, he's proven with his interactions with Fury that he has no loyalties to Osborn, and they could have quite a good thing with the whole, Immortals Vs Mortals, where Ares would potentially change sides to help Asgard.

I noticed this on CBR a couple of days ago.

Why the hell are they telling us now? This could have been a huge reveal in the comics instead 😐

It's not only Dark Avengers that are invading Asgard, the Thunderbolts, Avengers:Initiative and maybe Dark X-Men. Could also we see the return of the All-Father himself Odin? it's a very good possibility. Will we see Sentry, Venom cross the line against Thor's people?

this does look good, but i will this issue by issue

There is no chance of Odin returning 😐

I love Bucky but he's not a leader. Not like Steve was.

Not to mention the interviews with the various writers in which the entire plot is virtually outlined.

Does this look like promo art for Siege?
