Clownhouse (1989)

Plot: Just before Halloween, three young brothers alone in a big house are menaced by three escaped mental patients who have murdered some traveling circus clowns and taken their identities.

A long time I ago I saw this movie and recently I got to see it again. The movie in all honestly is pretty creepy to me (music, film colors, plot), since I had a fear of clowns when I was a kid. This movie brings back a wave of nostalgia for me, so I wanna buy it. When i recently saw this I rented it at this video store that prides itself in having rare movies etc - so they wouldn't sell it. I go on e-bay-- f*cking thing is selling for like 50 bucks a pop 'coz it's outta print. No way I'm playing that much.

So, on a side note, I heard rumors that the director of this heart-warming feature film actually got put in prison for molesting one of the child actors in the movie. Maybe this rep is what's making it so hard to get a ay decent price.

Anybody else have any thoughts on this movie?

Yes. I have this film. I find it a good watch every now and then, not much gore but still a fairly nice wee film. Isn't worse than any of these lame ass remakes being spewed out left right & centre these days.

Blinky, it's directed by the same guy who made Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2. That's Victor Salva, and it is official, he was in prison for child molesting/child pornography charges.

Interested in selling it for $2?

Wow, the dude is still making movies?

BTW --It figures you'd know something more about such a sick man.

Yeah, i had the same kind of fascination with this movie. I saw on television when i was young and the movie stayed with me. It scared the piss out of. I had only seen it that one time but it stayed with me so much that years later in my twenties i sought the movie out and ordered a backorder copy. After all of this i was very disappointed with what i saw when the movie arrived. I guess i was just young and impressionable when i saw the movie because after going through all of that trouble i felt like i stumbled upon a student film. Innocence of childhood i suppose...,everythings better. Needless to say i'm to impressed with the movie but i will admit that for what it is it is well made and the concept is very deranged and creepy. One that would work well today. It didn't help that i also found out that the director was a pedo during my research in tracking down the movie after all of those years lmao

🍺 One of my favorite horror movies of all time.Very underrated in my opinion

I was going to rent it through Netflix, burn you a copy and mail it to you, but ****ing Netflix has it as "unknown" in terms of release date. Amazon is seeling them (used/new) between $60.00-$240.00, so this flick has some cult following.

I do have other ways to acquire this, so I'll PM my machinations to you, though this is an old thread, so you may have acquired it already.

I never knew that Victor Salva was a pedophile.

It's interesting that he is still getting work.

Polanski still gets work and he's both a pedophile and fugitive.

Wasn't impressed with this one.

See Vulgar (2010), it's another horror that involves a clown.

I own Vulgar. It's worth a watch.
