aye. and i love how superman is just standing there afterwards with no damage done whatsoever. the only thing that would have made it more casual is if he'd shrugged his shoulders and flashed a goofy grin.

it was spoiled by having the other kryptonians pitch in imo. it's been so long since superman fought doomsday (i think the last one was 2001), i would have liked to see them at their current levels going at it.

a lot of people seem to think doomsday was weaker than normal in that issue - when the truth is, he was actually quite the opposite. this version easily slapped around 6+ [johns] kryptonians at once, tanked simultaneous HV from at least 4-5 others, and was only beaten when a dozen or so ganged up on him.... he was pretty powerful, imo.

yeah, i agree. he took a hell of a beating. so much so that i actually felt sorry for him. you could even see it in superman's expression, that sort of "wtf?" look.
