Cracks

Finally!! I for one have been waiting to see a trailer for this film for a longggggggg time and it's finally showing online:

I've been looking forwards to this film ever since I heard they were making a film version of the wonderful book of the same name. They have moved the story from South Africa to an island off the coast of England, but from the trailer it looks like they have stuck to the book quite closely.

It has the fantastic French actress Eva Green in the lead role, and directed by Ridley Scott's daughter Jordan Scott. I believe this is her debut for directing.

The story is set in 1930s England in an isolated all-girls boarding school. In the austere institution (the church hymns, the dark uniforms, the severe bare landscape) an unconventional teacher, Miss G (a superb Eva Green), brings a touch of glamour and emancipation. Her team of girls is faithful and adoring, until the arrival on a new student, the aristocratic Spaniard Fiamma (Maria Valverde), and the balance is irremediably flawed. Cracks is adapted from the Sheila Kohler’s 1999 novel.

i like eva green, i will see this just for her

She is a very good actress and finally a rather big role for her in a film, can't wait to see it.

One poster for the film. Adore the tagline too: Innocence isn't lost. It's taken.
