Hoaxes could hurt people.

(I know, WD making two threads in the GDF the same day. Well, tough fer ya)

Anywhoo...I avoided the Balloon Hoax of last month because it felt like a rather flat discussion. But then this happen...the guy gets attack by the media trying to get to his house.

Oh gawd! Call the cops.

I don't understand what happened. You need to give a bit more context here.

wth

I don't think that's a hoax issue. That's just the way people in Fort Collins act. If you don't believe me, go to a show there and wade through the pit.

I don't get it. Guy A jumps guy B, guy B proceeds to punch him.

Whats the hoax? or even the topic of discussion for that matter?

The guy is balloon boy's neighbor. He's attacking a Fox 31 News crew.

Don't know the entire story but here's what I do know.

Both fail at grappling. The guy in the yellow had control and couldn't dictate the fight. He had him positioned well but the skinny guy was able to posture up decently, I like how he kept saying "From behind?!", funny stuff. It looked like the skinny guy was going to go for a inverse leg lock variation when the yellow guy had his back but he just kept saying "From behind?!". The skinny guy landed a couple decent shots to the head, but nothing significant for him to get the W in this match up. I was expecting a nice Judo toss like a Uchi Mata or something but this was disappointing.

so? Like, if thats it, my comments are essentially that of Dr. Leg Kick, Phd. Not really a memorable fight.

I can't fathom what we are supposed to talk about otherwise. The media blocking the road? an overreaction by an individual? a lame fight?

Yeah, one would think these actions would come from a paparazzi but a news crew? So if I'm driving home tonight and there is a murder happening in my block...and I try to get home...the media with their vans blocking my path...could I get tackle for telling them to GTFO?

well, technically you could get tackled for any reason by anyone...

especially if you followed after someone yelling in their face

That's assault...unless you're a peace officer...keep your hands to yourself.

ok, so the topic is that a man was assaulted for posturing aggressively?

by a news crew spending way too much time and attention to some people who aren't that interesting in the first place. Seriously, get a life and go find something i want to read/watch about.

Usually incidents such as these get hush-hush by news media. Thanks to the AP we get to see them. Lately there is been increase reported cases of Media people bullying residents or harrasing communities. There is freedom of the press...but that does not entitle them to intimidate people.

That's a job for the police. 😛

[edit note] I apologize for the title is was done very careless. My bad for any confusion.

Are you the marketing director of that news station?

ok, cool, I see where you are going

I don't think its a new phenomenon, but ya, its really lame. I don't think the guy did anything wrong (though I would say the same of the guy in yellow), but he was being really aggressive, which he didn't need to be.

they get up early to beat the crowds.

What really bug me is that none of the media guys that were there said a thing when one of their own put the man in a half nelson. But when the man defended himself using a head lock they were all like "Hey break it up!"

Pack of cowardly Hyenas!

actually, they do say "thats enough" and "let him go" while they are on the ground. Its around the same time where the guy in yellow starts asking for help.

I hate newscasters. If you notice, the casters wouldn't move for the guy.
And when they insult him and he gets mad, they attack him, and yet when he fights back, they get all upset.

"shut the cameras off... we're winning"
