2009 Game of the Year

Was that necessary?

It's Game of the Year 2009, or am I wrong?

Does it, or does it NOT mean that the games are to have been released last year?

I played it this year so I'm putting it down as one of my favourites.

Did it come out this year? No.

That's what "Game of the Year: 2009" means, games that game out that year.

Metal Gear 4 isn't eligible. Not a tough concept to grasp.

TBH, I had a hard time NOT listing Fallout 3, and Fable 2: both games I played start to finish the first quarter of '09. I just couldn't justify listing '08 games for a thread about games from '09...despite both those games coming out late '08 (meaning, they both got played quite a bit the first quarter of '09)

You could have just said that your favorite game that you played this year is “x game”.

The fact remains that Game of the Year means game released this year. Also I believe the TS is asking which game is best out of the ones he/she listed.

As for 2009 Game of the Year it will have to be Uncharted 2 by far

Have to say Assassins Creed 2. Storyline, gameplay, variety, great open world. Best premise of any game of 09 on top of that.

I don't know who Mario Mario is but i've heard of Mario.

I've finally gotten around to playing all the games of 09 that I wanted to play (except for RE 5), and so far I believe the winner should be Uncharted 2, started a bit slow, but the story got really cool and the graphics were amazing.

The list has so many of my favourites its maddening.
