Sarkozy and midgets have very little in common.

It wouldn麓t surprise me, a weird bunch the Irish.

Damn shame they didn麓t go through, Henry the new maradona eh

After last night, they should be changing FIFA to THIEFA.

It was all dodgy from the seeding; how could anyone expect any fair draws to begin with. At one point, it was thought that Germany might have been in the play-offs.

On Anelka's dive I am a bit divided; Anelka didnt protest and neither did the referee give a yellow card for diving. This because Given missed the ball completely when tackling. So to be fair, the referee was to be lauded in that decision.

However Henry's palming ? That was Blatter-antly obvious as broad daylight. He touched the ball not once but twice! TWICE! and that after TV replays clearly show not 1 Frenchie offside but two! TWO!.

The French have been raising their hands since 1940 and there seems to be no letting. If the Irish had done what Henry did, I bet Platini would have been ranting about it that very night, get video-replay evidence introduced the next day, get the goal disallowed retrospectively and rule tha match as a walk-over for unsportsmanship by Ireland.

Hahaha, ah, you've just got to love it.

henry cheat

FIFA and football has become a joke, so many dodgy decisions, biast decisions, bad seeding pathetic really.

Wait till December when the groups are drawn, I bet Germany and France get the easy groups as usual. I just hope they go out early, but of course it won麓t happen, all the refs (who are paid by FIFA run by Platini) have to do is give the goals "offside" or "disallowed for pulling"

We麓ve seen it in the Champions league and other leagues as well, its becoming very sad.

Desailly killed Van Bastens career with a gruesome challenge.

but to what extent did Marcel intend to Terminate the Dutchman's career?

The impact of hand and ball occurred whilst Henry was virtually safe in possession.

Statistically Men make errors when they Multitask.

Famous errors for instance are The Russian Envoy who sent the Message to Fidel Castro that a Full Scale American Invasion was imminent. With disastrous effects to the Cuban Economy as Manpower and resources were rerouted to defense.

At that moment as the Forward is running on goal There are multiple thought processes running in his brain. For starters, Good forward players always track runners off-the-ball -outside- their line of sight That is one process which demands concentration whether you're playing in defense or attack. Then there is the opposition player/s marking and tracking you. As a Forward you're always thinking on how you can shake your pursuer and simultaneously outmanoeuvre/wrong foot the goalkeeper ahead of you so that you can put the ball past him. And then there is the ball. Things such as maintaining balance at speed, creating an angle for yourself, breathing, applying your dribbling skills etc become reflex actions. Because if you have to think about how you're going to dribble the ball as a striker You won't be able to make it in the sport as a professional.

The Handball above is an involuntary reflex action. A product of Muscle Memory.

Thierry regularly plays Basketball, Tennis, and Table Tennis.
Its unfortunate he touched the ball. In The Game against Ireland. As it is unfortunate Martin Taylor Broke Eduardo's leg at the Ankle with his tackle and left it hanging by a tendon and a bit of sock fibre.

Martin Taylor will probably admit he doesn't know why he did that. Certainly it wasn't intentional. It wasn't a conscious decision to put Eduardo in hospital that much is apparent. Its is something Martin Had never done before and is something he will never do again. That doesn't help Eduardo feel any better But hey that's life. Shit Happens.

Back on Topic

We see reflex actions at work all the time. Most can be identified when someone does something then leaves a comment such as, "Now why did I do that?" or "Shit!" which frankly is more common.

Typical example on the inter-webs: logging out of a site (or program) without saving your work, usually followed by a swear word.

Personally I'm hesitant to label anyone a cheat for an action which starts and is over in less than 1 second.

he's a f*cking cheat, and as an irishman, i honestly don't get how the linesman or the ref couldn't see what was henry trying to play basketball.

ireland were the better team on the night (for once). they deserved it. hell, they wanted it more.

also, the first touch of the ball might have been reflex, but you play football for long enough, and you actually learn to snap your hand back when the ball hits it. henry didn't do that.

that "random error" occured with three seperate individuals all at the same time (if we're assuming henry didn't mean it).

i wonder if they'd have caught it if it was up the other end...

It's a shame that they won by cheating, but I'd far rather see France in the finals than Ireland. It's all about the quality of football and France will deliver far more than Ireland would have done, I don't think an argument can be presented to prove otherwise.

If Rooney had done the same as Henry, the English reaction would be "It's the nature of the game, innit".

馃槀 A bit far from random. The ref had all the time in the world to consult his linesman and Henry. As Thierry stated "Im not the ref, and I told the ref it was hands, but the ref said the same. I am not the ref"

From what I saw, in this second the leg the Irish played better than their first leg; almost as if the teams switched grounds. They simply failed to take their chances. Keane and Doyle had them go begging in the second half.
As for the quality, yes, French players are far superior, however I have my doubts about Domenech.

except france didn't play nearly as well as ireland did.

Thierry Henry claims that after he told Richard Dunne he handballed it, Richard Dunne said "You aren't to blame.".

Robbie Keane, if I remember correctly, handballed it in the same game. It's just that Ireland had the misfortune of getting caught.

Either way, it sucks for Ireland. I want to see whoever plays well enough to deserve to be there.

Nope, not in my case anyway. I love the game and always want the best team to win, even if it means England loosing.

I might be in the minority though馃檪
