He doesn't have to be. He's durable enough to weather any storm, put up shields, negate him with tk and forceblock him.

Thanos certainly could not endure a million (and beyond) superman level punches dealt out in the first picosecond of the battle. In my opinion anyone who says or thinks otherwise is a blatant fanboy wanking the shit out of Thanos.
