The only reason I used quotes was because you seem to have a problem with the thought that Sentry can and has fought Galactus in exact words, "to a standstill".

No, the reality is, you don't want to accept when your fanboyed character is beat. Spider-man flat out says it, Sentry fought Galactus to a "standstill", however you try to twist it, their is no way you can say that what Thanos did was 1000X better than what Sentry has done. Take things at face value in comics and you might have an easier time.

Let's not hide behind the sentry deal. From what I remember, thanos during TI during the time he was blowing through cities fought a dog that grew 30ft tall and that dog was giving him a fight. Hell, thanos even got slapped across the face with a piece of building.
If surfer fought like an idiot against the hulk like he did against thanos and the hulk is serious, surfer would die by hulk hands as well.
Wrong again Carver it was Groot who was 30ft and he didn't give Thanos a fight at all , he got knocked out by a weak Thanos in one punch. Plus he never hit him with a building it was a gaint cannon after he had just blasted him, which did no damage at all. Sufer fights like that all the time, just like he did when he dominated Planet Hulk and Savage Hulk( who Surfer felt sorry for,whilst Hulk couldn't effect him).
Give Thanos 6 free punches at Sentry , and he'll be lucky to be alive.

The dog held his own against thanos and we don't know what all went on because they took the scene off of them for a bit but he looked mighty impressive against thanos.
That wasn't a normal sentry that wwh fought. Sentry never displayed power like that before or after the hulk fight and one punch from hulk busted the sentrys face completely up just like it would do thanos face.
