I don't believe that that music glorifies the Lord; hence, it is not anointed.

I honestly think you could get into the Danielsons, so rocking

They wear the nurses outfits because of the spiritual healing that goes on during their show

Most contemporary Christian music makes my ears bleed, it's sickening. Why write such crappy music to honor your God?

IMO Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by J.S. Bach is a beautiful song that is prime example of a man puting in all his mind, soul and heart trying to musically glorify God.

J.S. Bach said himself "The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.” I believe that creed is what made him the world's greatest musician.

Nowaday's it seems that all Christian music does is emulate the crappy-ass pop-music of the day and replace the lyrics with lyrics about God - while the music itself is a pile of dung. Quite sad.

I figured this one would be more abrasive inspirational than the original. 😐

I like religious music. As in 'chant' music.

Some of the best chants I heard are in Arabic.
This song is called ''Lord is my keeper'' or ''Lord is protecting me'' or something to that effect.

Singing in this one is so amazing.

Here is a song in Hebrew...psalm 120, as it says on the video.

Anyone for a little Psalm 69 by that obviously-christian-band-because-of-their-name, Ministry?

Just kidding OP.

Yeah, back in the mid 90's I enjoyed DC Talk (pre and post "Jesus Freak"😉, Jars of Clay, Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, God's Original Gangstaz, Bride, P.O.D, Petra, Third Day, and Thousand Foot Krutch. I don't listen to much of this anymore but every once in a while I'll pull up an Mp3 or three to give a listen.

I think I wore out my Newsboys "Going Public" tape (and then CDs) a few times over the years. Still listen to it occasionally but mainly because I enjoy the songs and not because of the 'praise' aspect.

The thing I believe is that, yeah, we can praise Him but not everything we do has to be to worship/praise him. We were given creativity for a reason. Not every painting needs to reflect God. Not every book needs to talk about him. In that vein, not every song needs to praise him.

To each their own, of course. That's what makes America great. The OP can have his/her view of the way things are as I can have my view. I have a live and let live view of it. I just hope the OP is as open minded and not in the 'my view is the only way so burn anyone else at the stake if they disagree' mindset.

Now to make nice with the OP may I suggest E Nomine and their cd Das Beste aus Gottes Beitrag und Teufels Werk. Specifically the song Vader Unser. No official video for it but you can at least listen to the song here.... youtube.com/watch?v=iHahMGj657Q

Here you go:

Rammstein - Hallelujah

This immediately came to mind 🙂 . I find its message relaxing.

No. Even I don't think so. 😛

Yes, because the fact of the matter solely depends on your opinion. I thought you were against relativism.

I thought the same thing. Completely ignored the Arabic chant. Interesting, huh?

Here is small collection of amazing Armenian chants.
