Fury can be worn down through prolonged battle, and imo Fury can't come up with a logical way to defeat EJ before that happens, his powerset while roughly the same as MJJ's isn't restricted by unspace.

Fury was only able to be worn down by 616 MJJ, who was GOD in that arc.

616 MJJ was more powerful than Matrix/Merlyn, and Merlyn was Omniversal.
(Fury scorched Merlyn's hands btw with one blast)

Fury's durability surpasses that of Eternity/Infinity.
(Fury withstood space/time nullification unfazed)

The Fury was indestructible, unstoppable according to Moore (the writer)
ONLY 616 MJJ was able to weaken Fury after its upgrade,
but hey, MJJ was GOD after all. 🙂

Anywho, imo, Fury will find a way to win, that's what the character does,
and it has the stamina/durability to get the job done.
(Joker was defeated, so if there's a way, that's where Fury comes in)

1 think we know about Fury is that it can resist and overcome reality warping. It is as effective on him as Superman's punches on Doomsday. Or even less effective then that.
