Yes, Galactus is more powerful, but they're still peers, y'know? Facing Proemial Gods is a big thing even for Galactus, especially when he's not at full, and with him in a not-peak but not badly starving state those two took him and Surfer down pretty easily.

because he played absolutely NO part in her feats during HOM.

In fact, Wanda has nothing to do with Chthon.
One time Chthon took possession of Wanda (back in the day)
and used her by controlling a puppet,
but Wanda broke free of that bondage withIN the same arc,
and in the end, curbstomped Chthon.
