That's ok. It's the logical place to go. It's not a sore spot though. The wildly varying nature of judging opinions in tourneys, even among diligent, intelligent judges, means that a different arrangement of judges for a series of close matches in any tourney could easily have changed outcomes of them, and undoubtedly would if we were to replay them. The whole Minion Prime memory assimilation is a good example: some judges were 100% with it, other entirely against it. I had a majority of them, so I felt confident, but my playoff success depended largely on the makeup of judges for my matches. I've had a tourney end while I was in the semis, and got kicked out of the tourney that, frankly, I had the best chance to win of any I have entered. And I have had more runner-up and 1-judge-loss decisions than I can remember. I have debated well enough to win, as have those that have won. I just haven't so far. But I compete to have fun, and have done so. Winning is fun, so I'm of course playing to win, but losses don't diminish the experience.
But...the fact remains that I simply don't feel like competing right now. I know exactly what it takes to win these things: the psychotic amount of legwork to find not only scans to bolster my argument but to meticulously research my opponents' strategies and characters. And I don't have the time nor the inclination to do so.
So. I hope you've all enjoyed the "let's egg Digi into entering" spiel. Be happy you have me as a judge. I won't take forever to make decisions, I can help the directors with mod-type stuff and technical aspects of the tourney (I've already advised Kahn once or twice about decisions at his request), and, let's be honest here, you don't have to get your ass beat down by me on my way to what would likely be another finals loss, given the draft picks I've missed out on.
