Keep in mind that in the Walt simonson series Darkseid was extremely powerful this was before he became a jobber. The only reason why Orion was able to fight and keep up with Darkseid was due to his superior fighting skills.

Darkseid intended to throw the fight but he did not hold back. Darkseid knew that if he held back Orion would have figured it out.

Walt simonson stated it himself. Darkseid wanted Orion back. Darkseid and Orion have not fought a lot hell even Superman has had more fight with Darkseid.

orion for a slight majority....

Orion for the vast majority

Gladiator 6/10. Both are pretty much brute fighters but I believe Gladiator as being the stronger, more durable, and faster out of the two. Orion is a tactical fighter when he wants to be.

Orion wins 5/10 after a good fight.

Orion one-shots the other 5/10.

Orion for a solid majority given the Astro Harness, his strength, and insane durability.
