The Infinity Gauntlet Saga Starring Darkseid

New Genesis and the heroes of DC Earth have extended their protections to Marvel 616, due to Marvel Earth's de-population of mutants, the super-hero civil war, the dissolution of shield, the corruption of osborn, the fall of asgard, the insanity and absurdity of sentry and the rulk, the tireless machinations of doom, etc. etc.

Out of spite Darkseid decides to control marvel 616. He travels to the MU and time travels back to the past when the Elders of the Universe still had the infinity gems. Determined to see for himself first hand how the Infinity Gauntlet works in its native universe, he collects the gems then decries himself God. Mephisto recognizes when the going is good and runs to Darkseid's side, as he did when Thanos had the IG. Somehow Darkseid has made Thanos vanish from the universe.

Mr. Fantastic and capt. america have gathered the heroes on earth, while Adam Warlock prepares the cosmic abstracts for battle.

Does DS succeed or does he fail? PIS is ON, just as it was when Thanos had the IG. DC Earth/New Genesis cannot interfere.

DS like Thanos, fails.

Ds has the gems taken from him.

Didn't Thanos lose it because of his own sub-conscious desire to lose or some crap? I don't see Darkseid doing the same thing, he's much more greedy and needy than Thanos, not to mention more psychologically sound.

Reed builds a dimensional portal to recruit Ultimate Sinister and a flight of stairs. Marvel ftw.
