I have a lot of RAM for music, I love my music 🙂

...how and what do you listen to?

That is true. I would have expected him to first ask how many GB his harddrive was.

How do I love my music? Because music makes me happy, whenever I hear I song I like then...its nice 🙂 I listen to alotta different stuff, I like the lonely island and attack attack alot 🙂 What about you?

I meant how do you listen to music. Again tying into my quest to convince people that RAM, contrary to popular belief, is not magic.

I listen to a lot of stuff. I like The Smiths in particular, they have been somewhat of a constant throughout my life as a music appreciating being, which, embarassingly, started at about 17 for me. Since then I have gone through phases though of increased listening to a specific band, all of which I do still like, just don't listen to as much anymore. That started with Radiohead and the Magnetic Fields. Jeff Buckley and Kate Bush. Sufjan Stevens and Bob Dylan. Rage Against the Machine and Arcade Fire. Pixies and Joni Mitchell. Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Beirut. To name a few.

If you are interested I actually have a last.fm account that I used to use a lot, lately not so much since I didn't have iTunes installed and mostly listened on CDs, having to do with my computer breaking...it had two gigs of RAM....just sayin'

Cool I'll check it out, I have a youtube account with songs I chipmunked dunno why but I love chipmunked songs 🙂 Don't have alotta songs on there though just 3 or 4 😬 I always listen to music on my computer or on my PSP since my MP3 player broke, I've had it for a long time so it doesn't surprise me but now my psp is messing up, my analog stick is in control of itself, the UMD keeps opening so when I play a game it opens up and so I have to close it again and my games don't pause when that sucker opens and the headphone part doesn't work to well either so...yeah

Is the PSP good for music? I used to have a pretty nice Cowon, but the touchscreen broke like after 3 months then I just used a Creative Zen (partly cause Apple's Hardware can go suck a cock...except for their rumored tablet) which was fine. That broke a while back, too though so now I listen to music on my G1 and at home I usually use iTunes, their library functions are amazing, or sometimes foobar depending on what computer I am on.

I had a Creative Zen, and it broke not too long after I bought it. So I was forced to go for an iPod.

The PSP can be pretty good for music yeah, the only problem is the headphones that come with the PSP really suck, they lower the music so much that even when its on full volume you can barely hear it so I always use my normal headphones 🙂 How come it broke?

Well, I don't want to knowck Apple too much. They are just evil and will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes. I jest, of course, their iPhone is actually a pretty decent smartphone especially for its time and I hear only good things from the people that can afford a Mac, though I am a poor student so I don't know too many.

Ah well, as long as you are not forced to use a specific proprietary headphone type you can always just use better ones.

The Cowon broke probably because it was in my pockets and I must have walked against something, although that really is just a theory, it might have magically broke. The Zen just was somewhat old and wouldn't boot up anymore.

Well I wanna phone sony sometime so I can get my PSP fixed, I'll have to do it soon because its driving me up the wall with all these problems it has and then when it gets fixed I'll end up probably having to hack it again

I'm not sure. The idea of having no life because you are interested in tech or spend a lot of time online weirds me out anyways, it seems like this "life" is a very particular definition that seems somewhat random really.

But even then, I would not expect someone to ask how much RAM someone has because they have a large porn collection, the chances that anything particularly interesting comes from that seems unlikely. I mean it is not like asking someone that says he watches 5 HD porn movies at the same time while having ten browsers open and doing some photoshop work, you know? They are unrelated.

When you have a lot of memory, in your hard drive. There is an easy chance that files become corrupt if you dont have the right software to back it up. So when having alot of RAM, you can just manage things to a better extent.
And also. When you have alot of RAM, people who use file share systems can just block the use of there ram being shared. Solves the whole trojan or virus problem.
Unfortunatly my computer is down from water damage, and i dont know when it will be back up.

Anywho. I have a 97 GB hard drive, and a 56 GB of RAM.

That seems again incredibly unrelated.

What in the world do you need 56GB RAM for? What operating system do you even us?

Probably a typo though? I don't even know what kind of super mainboard you'd need to have enough slots for 56 RAM....

The welsh one or the American one? If the name had 2 '!' then it was the welsh one, I've seen them live as well

When I said I like attack attack I did mean the US one but the welsh one is also good

What's different about his version? And I am still wondering what you'd use that for, it seems incredibly high for a consumer PC. Now if you had like a super server. I mean Windows XP 32 Bit is unable to use more than 4 GB RAM as far as I know

Name me a few of the songs they sung or one of them, then I'll be able to tell, I think you saw the American one as well

Im not really shure. But he showed me how to use it.
And i havent had a single problem with it. Well except for the water damage...... i had it at my friends house. And a pipe burst in his basement......... ehhh.

Well, you wouldn't have a problem with having more than 4 gigs while using XP. You just couldn't utilize it.

Do you use very memory heavy applications? I don't know what you could use though to justify 56GB in a consumer computer really.
