Actually, in one of Black Adam's earlier origins, SHAZAM ADMITTED that he couldn't harm Black Adam. What did he do? He teleported him away to the farthest reaches of the universe. The result? It weakened the hell out of him. Black Adam would travel faster than light to get back, but he did.Really shows how durable the Marvel and Adam family was.
That was all weak writing, and one of the many reasons why pre-crisis events got closed out of continuity. That Shazam himself could barely handle his former servant - ridiculous.

Honestly I think in PC days Shazam's Heralds were stronger than he was. Like he was originally a Captain Marvel sort of person but now he has invested most of his power in his heralds. That's certainly not the case Post Crisis though.
Yeah, I think that reasoning makes sense.

Yeah, I went through some old 70's CM comics, and Marvel didn't show any pain or discomfort from anything save for a device which simulated the magical lightning that fueled his transformation. Even CM3 apparently singlehandedly beat down Satan himself or something along those lines.
I'm talking about old Fawcett days. Back when DC didn't own them. Do you have those comics?

I find it strange then that DC ever allowed another hero to be more powerful than their golden boy. Of course Superman could probably just use "super-cheating" to bypass the invulnerability.
That's why they depowered him around the 80's or so. Probably around the 70's.

Black Adam was not greater than CM or Superman at the time. There was actually a time where he was running away from them 🙂Anyway Monarch wins Shazam was able to BFR BA to the end of the Universe and it took him like 500 years to come back.
BA is not winning this.
I posted some BA vs Superman fight, Pre-Crisis. Superman couldn't put him down and BA got some good hits in. Which fight are you talking about?
And I posted many scans of BA fighting Billy. They were DEAD even.
BA will win this. He will rip Monarch's suit from him.

BA won't be able to rip Monarch suit he will be easily BFR and it's not like Monarch lacked power he had an edge over Prime with amp.

I don't think that incident was during Fawcett years, since Superman and Cap never met. On the other-hand, when Superman and Adam met Superman wasn't holding back, because Adam had a hostage, but this might be the same incident.
BTW, no BFR. Too cheap. Monarch won't be able to harm Adam with just energy.
