what does the idea of a car that you can drive to the airport then press a button and it tranforms into a mini air plane?

Why are you angry? Is it because this idea was already thought of?

LOL!

How old are you? And, in case you feel a little uncomfortable answering that to a stranger on the internet, I'm 26.

Also, I think it's great that you're thinking about things. Do not stop thirsting for knowledge and solutions. It's a beautiful thing.

OMG but... I have a better idea. I will invent:
a family size flying car that can go to space and fold into a brief case.

Vertical take off, 380mph and for only 320 thousand.

Wow impressive, but if everyone had one there´d be a lot of more dangerous crashing going on, because be honest who would bother driving to the airport when you can fly, just like that?

i think if alot of people start buying those things they have to enforce a law making them drive to the airport to take off, or else there would be some crazy accidents in the air.

not to mention drunk flying. licensed pilots are doing enough of that.. imagine if civilians did it too.. they have to regulate the shit out of this if it comes into fruition..

The idea is automated flight. You know, autopilot. They already have trajectories, approaches, takeoffs, etc. all mapped in 3D space for airports for many different aircraft (cause a Cessna is not going to have the same approach, speed, etc. as a 747.) Of course, they'd have to improve the AI much more than what it is now, for the autopilot, but it is certainly possible NOW with current technology. It would just be really really expensive to do and take forever.

I think letting the programmers perfect autopilot cars, first, is a good idea. After they get that down (which they practically have), then we can work on having traffic automated and completely run on autopilot.

No way you're younger than 40. You're waaaay too full of piss and vinegar.

Flying cars work as an awesome metaphore when people talk about "pie-in-the-sky" future technologies as if everything we need is just around the corner waiting to be invented.

Call me when a Flying SUV models are introduce.

flying people must happen first before flying cars
