Ive never been a big fan of glee. I mean i thought it was ok and all but I wouldnt watch it every day. But I thought they did a HORRIBLE job with The Rocky Horror Picture Show episode. The pitch was all off and they changed some of the words. If your gonna sing songs from a great movie, then sing them correctly!
Gotta say, I was loving the "Singing in the Rain" / "Umbrella" mash-up on the recent episode. I have never once watched this show, and the "comedy" and dramatic elements make it boring as hell. But the song was, well, damn cool.
If a show like this popularizes such groups and artistry, I'm completely for it. Auto-tuned or not, authentic or not, the enthusiasm it could create is perhaps its most promising element. Just like Dancing With the Stars...can't really stand it as a show outside of the dances themselves (there's a lot of extra fluff), but I'm a casual dancer (East Coast, Lindy, Blues, Latin Stuff, decent but mostly self-taught, etc.) and have met people who came out to dance after seeing the show.
