If you really just sat there and thought about what you believe in you would think like i do.

This means that individuals like Max Planck, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Leo Tolstoy, Gregor Mendel, Isaac Newton, Rustum Roy, Nicolaus Copernicus, Blaise Pascal, and even Georges Lemaître are very stupid. Hell, Georges Lemaître proposed the big bang theory.

What you're essentially saying is those people that I listed are also very stupid, which is extremely false. They triumph over you intellectually. You're the generic type of atheist that is flamboyantly prejudiced and you're "generic type" is making us look worse than we already look. You're basically the sort of atheist that believes rejecting God automatically makes him intelligent but that couldn't be farther from the truth.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. Archaic civilizations who developed literature, mathematics, various forms of philosophy and much more are anything but non-intelligent. Sure, we will have to redefine what god is, but we have always been doing that. I think that people that would agree with you are the ones being left behind. We do not know everything, and we never will.

Sarcasm aside, I actually have the opposite problem. I've been broken up with for being atheist...and not even being vocal about my atheism, nor with supremely religious girls. Just kinda "Oh sh*t, really? Well uh, yeah, I don't think is going to work."

Move to the UK, most of us are Athiest here (at least they are from my experience). You'll never get that problem.

I had that happen as well. It was really bad for me since she's a hardcore (6000 year creation, literal interpretation etc) and when I told her... now she won't even talk to me.

What's really shitty is how well we got along. We really enjoyed each other's company and then this happened.
