Spending a point on Empathy? Who are you examining with the power?

oh, i didn't know it cost a force point, in the rules thread it didn't say it cost any points.

The majority of Force powers cost one point unless it says otherwise in their description (i.e. Scan can be used at no cost, or Staredown costs two points). Empathy costs a point.

Do remember that you start with 9 Force Points! You spent a point on Foresight, leaving you with 8.

Alright. It is Savoir-Faire + Intelligence to test your galactic knowledge, and Language + Intelligence to translate what they are saying.

Two successes on the Savoir-Faire check. These fellows are Nergians, a race of fast-talking and short-tempered reptilians with a penchant for weaponry and for low intelligence.

Two successes on the Language check too. They seem to be bickering about how much they should charge you already.

"ill give you 2 thousand right now, you'll get the rest of the 10 thousand after i am safely at my destination" Haron says in Nergian to the bickering smugglers, as to put an end to the arguments.

They simultaneously utter an amazed "Ooo," as you have offered more than they were going to charge by a landslide.

They introduce themselves as Grop, Trop, and Brop, and ask why you are offering so much. Do you need them to do something besides take you somewhere?

"lets just say... there might be a fight following me," haron says, "but i may require your assistance in... my plans" he adds

Brop complains that that is too vague, but Trop punches him clean across the jaw and they start tussling.

Grop asks you what it is you're doing.

lol, hmm... can i use scan to find out why he wants to know the details, just to see if he is untrustworty? it doesn't cost anything, and im going to go with the force roll, instead of the forcepoint-override

This is something that you are very good at. You treat Force rolls as Easy, meaning you roll successes on 4s and up. As it is, you roll five successes.

He exhibits simple curiosity and skepticism- you have offered a lot of money, he wants to know what it is you want him to do.

He doesn't understand.

"Im a thief" Haron says outright,"Im planning on robbing the Grand Central Bank, and i need an escape plan."

Grop smiles a toothy grin.

"Big prize," Grop says, in a hushed voice. "Why I believe you capable of dis? Much security! You go splat-splat!"

Kren chuckles at this comment, and says "im very... skilled..."
