so what do you think of the tea bag scene in the captain america issue ?

Read it.

Marvel using controversy to boost their sales.

Nothing new.

yeah they must be the only ones doing it...shame on them

This isn't surprising. If you look back, Cap has very much been a defender of real American values and has taken some very anti-conservative controversial stances in the past. No surprise he'd take on the brownshirt tea bagging scum.

So much 'controversy' over this one page..?

Spoiler:

Unbelievable. none

I wonder, do they really deny the existence of primarily white anti-tax groups?

What if it read:

"I don't exactly see a White man from Memphis fitting in with a bunch of Black folks...if you know what I mean."

Uh-huh...quite a storm it would unleash.

So is this tea party after the lemon party?....anyone? anyone?...I feel sick now 🙁.

But a white guy from Memphis wouldn't fit in with a bunch of angry black folks...

Look, going back to the 40's and through all his battles with the real Red Skull, Cap's primary motivation has been fighting Nazis. This is just an extension of that. This is no more controversial than him quitting to avoid government mandated slavery or breaking into a military installation and hacking a government computer in order to discover the government's complicity in the Nuke fiasco during Born Again. In fact, going back to Born Again, Captain America was supposed to represent American values and Nuke was a representation of what the conservative Reagan era viewed as American values.

exactly. if it said what you posted they would just leave it as that they wouldnt plan on doing any reprints.

The artist/whoever borrowed some real life slogans for and anti-tax protest from some real life anti tax protesters.... Someone please explain the controversy to the uniformed Brit here?

I wonder what John Locke, John Stuart Mill and Roseau would think of riots of people crying for them to be .... "Tea Bagged"? 😂
