I dunno, Stranger has knowledge of events that Metron would not know about(GEB, and other stuff to do with the Judeo-Christian part of the DCU)

That's true, but I'd wager Metron knows things PS doesn't as well. He knew about Mandrakk before he ever was released and he learned the Source's secrets along with Swamp-Thing.
