Space Battleship Yamato (live action-2010)

Got excited yesterday, finding out a live action version of the old 'Yamato' anime series - run in North America in the 1970's & 80's as Star Blazers - is getting the live action treatment! 100% Japanese production too - no Wachowski Brothers/Speed Racer treatment here.
I just hope it will come to North America once it's released in December.

A website is set up, too. 💃

...Am I the only fan out here?

Never watched the show but the movie looks good.

It looks fairly costly - I don't how their yen would translate into a blockbuster-sized American budget.

Looks pretty badass.

i remember watching this when i was younger...

can't wait to this as a live action film

i would watch that.

Looking forward to seeing this as well.

I think my favorite movie is Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love though.

When I first saw it blew me away.

Hopefully the live action version will be just as good.

Space Battleship Yamato is being released all over Canada, 30 different locations on November 11 at 7pm. I can't post the link for you guys but check your local Cineplex for listings. I've seen it and it's a very good film! I suggest everyone give it a shot.

I'm in Toronto, and never noticed it getting a release at the theatres.

Don't get yer hopes up, I've seen it & the disappointment outweighs the potential for a good movie. The action is repetitious & an uninteresting love story pretends to be the plot of the entire movie.
