This whale didn't ask to be held prisoner and forced to perform for a bunch of over weight and unappreciative monkeys. I know that the sea world trainers deeply care about these animals and would probably rather see them be released but they still make the conscious decision to work with wild animals. Killing this animal as a punishment for doing what is only natural to it would be even more cruel than capturing them and forcing them to perform stupid tricks for our enjoyment. I'm not going to say these trainers deserved what happened to them but it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Is anyone surprised when a soldier is killed by a bullet or a crab fisherman drowns?
