USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (LIGHT SIDE)- Harmony

Yup.

And the worry about splitting up would be protecting the scholars as they made their way through the city. Although if they were quick and quiet they might be able to take care of it.

Protection wouldn't be that useful, as you can't make the retrieval under fire anyway so if you run into trouble that would be that.

If I'm not mistaken, we are with 2 scolars. Just a question: does that mean we can half the time we need to find certain things (even though the "things" can be vague)?

It's just to have an idea about how fast things can go. 'cause if we do not have a goood idea what we need, we're looking for a needle in a hay stack even though we know WHO we are tracking the WHAT can still provide terrabytes of info, no?

It's nothing to do with being Scholars except in how that might apply to a useful skill set.

Getting in unnoticed would require intrusion, searching through the library would require observation or fix it, I;m not suer what other skills would be needed.

Very likely Jelena would be needed for translation unless someone else can develop a working understand of the Thalos language.

We only have three people with intrusion, though. Vera, Xeth, and Andro. I don't know about the Padawans.

Vera has a high Language score. Nothing on Jelena, of course.

I think Jelena would be more needed for the prison break, since her vision is tied to it.

But who will be able to get the language down? I only got a 2 on that...

Indeedy. Luckily, Jelena's vision was not actually based around herself.

Straight Intrusion will be unhelpful for many of you. Rooting around the library files will be tricky to do completely unseen, and meanwhile any of you that are male have additional problems...

Time passes. You could wait until fully healed, of course, but two things prey on your mind- Thea's warning about Aquila's growing influence and ability to break the rules, which may make Sanctuary less safe. Secondly... you have a mission to fulfil. I would remind you, btw, that it is not very appropriate for a Jedi to involve him or herself in the civil affairs of another world. Laudable or otherwise, it's not your job to so arbitrarily set Republican policy; it would have to be decided in the Senate whether to act against Aquila or not.

Obviously the Renegades care less there, though you took this job from the Council and some of you are working to build bridges.

(Note- any Renegades that do build bridges during the campaign will be eligible for padawans).

However, for now, one thing unifies your goals- Aquila has impounded your ships. Still, they are easily fixable, especially Wentar's. A planned move on the starport could see you clean out.

Jelena, you have been talking about the language. You could not be in a better position- not just in your talent. The Ladies all speak Basic. They have records of your language from the old days; it is something that educated people generally learn (like Latin for much of European history). They even use it, for whilst Thalos is isolationist, they are not entirely cut off from outside traffic- they do have a starport after all, though as you noted on approach it is their only one. All their comms with traders and the like are in Basic. This in turn means they have copious amounts of material related to learning it based on the language of Thalos; you just need to reverse engineer that material. Then you can pass that onto others in the group with good Language scores.

Vera... you're feeling your age. Such prolonged fights like that one don't suit you. You are never meant to get into fights like that; that's what the Force is for- plan and adapt. But that's the problem with the Dark Side; it messes all of those rules up. You KIND of sense it now though- this planet is hold in the grip of stability that you would call... very cold.

Aquila ius using Harmony to describe what you would define as two different things- the Force... and Balance. The Ladies are striving for balance, just like the Jedi. Aquila is trying to do it by force. As Thea has explained to you, that can't hold. The idea of Adelmo trying to do such a thing on a galactic scale would be scary if it were not so patently ridiculous- thousands and thousands of Jedi couldn't keep balance by Force even if they were minded to try. As a Renegade, you think the Jedi err too much on the side of caution there- but Thalos might serve as a warning of taking it too far. It's fine if someone like Thea is in control, but what about an Aquila or Adelmo? That;s one of the reasons why the Jedi refuse power- somewhere down the line, the wrong person would get it.

You are contemplating this as you rest on the mountain slopes to one side of the Sanctuary, looking up at the stars. Constellations as seen from different worlds- always fascinating. And there in the distance is a small patch of blackness where no stars shine- you have a view of the Treganna Void; an area so thick in particulate matter that no light can shine through it. A reminder of how far out you are from galactic centre.

Thinking about that puts you in mind of Thea talking of the Sith, in detail enough to comment on how few Sith Lord were female. You have your own ideas on that- a lot of the cultures the Sith came out from were misogynistic, though the more sophisticated (and hence more dangerous) Sith were surprisingly egalitarian and non-racist, judging purely on results alone. But there is something about the aggression of the male instinct which can perhaps skew them in a certain direction on the Dark Side. You'd say that it's not that there were more likely to be Sith- it's just they were more likely to make such a grandiose deal about it and feel the need to prove themselves in outright war.

Anyway... the point is, you'd not thought of it much before. But this entire region of space- it's in the direction that the early Sith invasions came. Long, long ago. At some point or another, all of the systems in this quadrant would ave been drawn into the Sith Wars.

As Vera-Kin contemplates the constellations around Thalos, her mind strays to the fact that this area of space once had contact with the Republic and was considered for joining the Senate. Thalos had helped the Jedi fight the Sith, after all.

Vera-Kin will wander in to talk to Thea again, this time about the role that Thalos played against the Sith.

"Lady Thea," Vera-Kin says. "You told us that Thalos helped fight the Sith... do you know much of that time?"

"Not really," she says. "Many things were different then, is all we know. That's not just us. There are some records that indicate that this area of space was once well populated."

Relatively, of course. Stellar density out here is sparse compared to the midst of the Republic.

"Did the war eradicate much of the life in this sector?" Vera-Kin asks.

She has no idea. That would seem extreme. Wars can cause great cultural movements, of course.

"Such as migrations into Republic space in hopes of gaining protection?" Vera-Kin says. "Unless there are other reasons you know of."

No, she has no other specific idea. Her job wasn't history. Ironically, the one you'd want to ask about that would be Adelmo.

Maybe thats something that you could look for in the library?

Alright, time to be a pragmatist. Lets get a plan of action. If we are going to split up to get into the library, and the prison, we are going to need a way to communicate. We also are going to need a plan after we hypothetically escape the system.

Plan overview:
Scholars get to the library, find out what they can and then make for the starport.
Rest of us, go to the prison, then go to the starport.
We can tell Thea that we can help her free her ladies in waiting, but that the affairs of this world are up to her, and we cannot participate in such a coup. (The influence of the dark-side here does make it a bit easier to justify action though)

But I still would like to know what we are going to do after we leave the planet. Do we head back to the Jedi Temple and report? Or do we keep searching?

Well, Thea wants you to escort her to the assembly- the Zaari will be an issue, else.

Anyway, Vera-Kin feels that there may be some sort of Sithy thing that Adelmo stumbled across in her position as Librarian, since Thalos was once involved in that conflict.

"I know you aren't the Librarian and it isn't your specialty," Vera-Kin says, "but do you know if the library keeps any paper documents at all?"
