USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (LIGHT SIDE)- Harmony

(Wel, who says they recognize a Jedi fighter this far out? And we don't HAVE to get off the ship wearing robes and holding our sabers. My main point was not to necessarily keep the Jedi part secret anyhow. I just meant maybe keep the investigation part quiet for now. They are obviously at least somewhat suspicious/confrontational people. It wasn't like they answered our hail with "Welcome to Thalos! C'mon down!" Their intro kind of implies to me that there are specific purposes they'll not look kindly on. It doesn't have to be a big fancy fabrication to start with.)

(edit - guess I should have waited a few minutes to catch Ush's post.)

Deception has its advantages and disclosure has its weaknesses. But you have to consider the way of the Light Side- especially the full on Jedi, as opposed to the Renegades, as you are representatives of the Republic entire out here. What you do and how you act reflects on it.

Jedi starfighters are not in use yet, right, at least not heavily. Would they be associated with us yet? I don't think so. This is only a prototype early production build (with extensive modifications) that I was testing and allowed to keep. It is also blue in colour and not exactly the same design as the KDY standard for Jedi starfighters that come later. I may draw my fighter at some point if I can... anyway, "I didn't bring anything but a spare Robe and garments. Maybe these are far out enough that the Jedi are merely unheard of, wouldn't be the first time it's happened."

Let's just be straightforward with them.

"I agree, we shouldn't hide who we are."

That being the case, Xeth will hail Thalos.

"Hello there," he starts off. "My name is Xeth Tam. We are Jedi Knights representing the Galactic Republic, performing an investigation in this area of space. We are low on fuel and seeking accomodation. May we land?"

Sweet. Now lets hope they don't shoot us.

This seems to be like a good time to include Sunda in on the discussion.
"Deception serves us no purpose here. We are Jedi, our motives are pure, and we should not hide who we are because of a hypothetical threat. The question; 'What if they don't like Jedi.' is not enough of a reason for us to be initially deceptive.

"Just like Alura," Wentar chuckles, thinking back to when the Selen was confronted with a large group of Jedi.

Part of me has a feeling that this isn't the final destination of our investigation...

My character isn't saything this, I am saying it directly to you (not your character): They never asked who we are, they asked to state our business.
I find touting about "we're jedi knights!" to be pompuous. A more "we're humble servants of the Republic, out on an investigation" to be more Jedi-suited than saying "dude, we are jedi knights, hear me and tremble for I have a shiny sword and can choke people from a great distance".

Anyway, minor detail. 🙂

It is hard to avoid that you being Jedi is a significant issue that, in spirit, they would want to know.

But in any case- traffic control has given you a vector to head in to for a starport landing.

Not that there is much traffic around- and from what you can tell, only one starport.

Alright, I guess we are landing.

Can I do a fly over of the starport and scan for defensive structures and other ships, on the ground of not.

If you want to completely ignore the approach vector they give you, sure.

This isn't free airspace for you to do what you like with.

Lets just land and see who greets us on the ground.

Right now there's no reason to look into defensive structures and the like. We're not that paranoid... right?

No need to be. Xeth will follow the approach vector, and everyone should do the same. We don't want to piss off whoever we are meeting right away.

Exactly, lets just land.

You are approaching what is definitely a technologically sophisticated world- all the evidence of appropriate technology and the like, with cities and great energy reactors and so forth. The only curiously lacking thing is the number of starports.

Jelena is not surprised. They are incredibly far out. Is Thalos the name of the world, then, or the starport?

Jelena will guide the Sunlit Dancer into the starport.

"We are to act diplomatic and respectful," Jelena says to Essallin. "I have a feeling that they will not be open to our investigation, depending on whether or not Kara and her allies are in a position of power... as I feel they might."

It's the name of the world.

You are being given a clear approach to the starport- yours is the only interstellar traffic.

Can Xeth see any other ships or can R3 detect them? Perhaps traveling atmospherically?
