Well, he;s busy 'interrogating' Epireans, by coincidence about interrogative verbs in their language. Whcvh there are plenty of.
Droids, of course, get quirkier as they age, and anything you've listed as a Sith droid has to be getting on a tad... this one very much has a mind of its own.
As you listed it as having two functions, it is not as good at either as a solo function one would be... but it does give me grounds for character,
Rand will make his pitch to the Mecrossans as to why they should help.
"The Sith enlisted you in their rise to power, to help remove their opponents and take control. That is now my aim. The Treganna Void will not flock to me in search of leadership, but this will be the first step in gaining control of that region of space. Once Emperor Rivas is removed, there will be chaos as his underlings try to seize power themselves. I intend to make sure the throne of Rivas' Empire will be mine.
"Additionally... I am well aware of your interest in history. If you assist me in this mission, I will let you in on the discoveries we have been making recently. I am certain you will find them very interesting..."
"J6," Azarl says when he finds the droid. He steps off of the skiff. "I have need of your services."
He waits to see how the droid reacts. Azarl found the droid in some ship wreckage on his home planet, the same place he found his lightsaber. Vudes used to be under Sith control and Azarl assumes he himself is a descendant.
"Come at once."
Rand-
"If we thought you were covered from the Bureau, we'd believe that," your contact says. "But if you are going to be this loud, you CAN'T make a power bid in Treganna space because the Bureau is watching and that's too much of a risk."
-
Azarl-
"You are possessing an abstract concept. These locals have no terminology for that. They can only express a holding of physical objects."
A small buzz-saw turns on on his left arm.
"Now I shall see how their grammar structure holds up under stress."
He's going to cut his captive's arm off.
Relle tells Graf that she doesn't need to get up close and personal like they do. She describes the Palace's dome to her and says she could shoot down from there. Relle would make sure nobody goes after her in terms of close quarters. She can snipe all she wants.
Relle will ask if maybe the Elders could ask something of her, a favor in return for the favor they'd be doing her. Or if maybe they could help influence who replaces Rivas, so that the Fellowship has a little more power in the area.
Azarl will use the Force to pull back J6's arm to stop him. Otherwise he will interpose himself and physically push the arm back.
"J6, I do not have time for this," Azarl says. "Harming the Epireans would violate our treaties with them. And then you would not be able to learn about their language any more because we'd have to leave this world or kill them all."
Yay quirky droid slave!
Galder is totally okay with putting Rura on his payroll, to make sure that the mercenary continues to work for him. He is going to be readying his ship for the flight to Selene, packing up his gear and making sure the ship is fueled and the shields are charged. He expects there to be trouble when they try to leave Selene, and he expects that even with an ace pilot like Trax flying Xavier's freighter, it will need support against fighters.
He will also get Trogan and Fighter A together and see what they think of going with their master to Selene. He wants to get their thoughts on the use of Epireans and see if they feel ready for something like this.
Nah, they don't believe you could control the Void by proxy. You don't have the background for it anyway, nevermind the logistics.
"You destroy, Rand, it is what you were always good at, and it is what we trust you to do. We're less sure about your empire building. We're not going to war for you.
"We can maybe work out something more surgical for you... if we thought there was something decent coming from you. What are you up to lately, Rand? We know you, it must be something."
-
"The Fellowship doesn't kill where it can deal," says Graf. "Besides, kill one greedy pirate leader and you soon have another; probably a less stable one. They won't give a damn for Rivas but that cuts both ways; they need an interest before they kill. Rivas is a powerful man; there is inherent risk involved in opposing his organisation.
"What would you actually want me to do? Or the others, if you want me to pass on a message?"
-
"It is possible I could learn much of their language if you killed them all. Certainly much of their terminology of betrayal."
