An addendum to my turn- swap in Focused Guard and nominate the lone guard in east, should he decide to shoot Rand. Then I can reflect it and he can cry.
Since Galder isn't joining them, Rand speaks to Azarl without looking away from the laser tower.
"We make for the north after this," Rand says. "They should have Nom squared away or cut into squares shortly."
Just to note, it is very unlikely that nominating a target with Focussed Guard is going to get it reflected. The nomination gives you a Parry. For the Parry to make a difference, he has to have rolled a success- and if he has rolled a success, the chances of the total roll being 7 or less are very low indeed.
Doesn't make it LESS likely, obviously.
For a while in testing, the nomination gave an extra defence die- but that was actually giving Reflection too high a kill rate, killing an extra Mook on average every turn (depending on number of firers) at range regardless of their position.
The Parry makes it much better defensively but less lethal with Reflection. It's still a good pair up with Reflection though, especially on a tap.
Okay, so just to recap:
Azarl and Rand stay where they are this turn and finish up the tower.
Galder, Xavier and
Gallador go north and kill tax guard (hopefully all of them)
Haron attacks the pikeman.
Relle, Rianna (Flurry, Forward Guard Tap) and Dak (Flurry, Forward Guard tap, Charge tap) attack the Nom
And Con will
a) (if he has his blaster with him already as Rex said) kill the one guard left then move to the north with his charge
b) (if he doesn't) move to the east and pick up his blaster using co-ordination
Is all that right?
Well... I think I might as well cut to the chase.
As more gunfire comes from the surrounding area, Rand and Azarl have killed those tower guards, and Haron rolls well and kills the pikeman.
Nom's bike (being on a vehicle means you are never pinned) flies away to safety!
But without Nom on it, who has been hacked to pieces by is assailants...
Once the gunner collapses and dies, Rand releases his grip. He looks over to see what has become of Nom and is pleased to find that the tax collector has been utterly butchered. He gestures to the remaining guard near him and nods to Azarl, indicating that the other Dark Sider should kill the guard while Rand looks about him to see how the crowd is reacting to their display.
Rianna's just amused that something actually didn't go entirely disastrous.
And we have everyone here, and as was pointed out earlier, we have decent crowd control people. Those people can order everyone out of our way if they know what's good for them, so we can make our way out of here to the starport.
