If by "doing well" you mean been totaly outclassed and was not able to die due to his connection to his realm, thats why Galactus started to absorb his realm.

It was a stalemate, both were in perfect form untill Galactus started to feed upon Meph's realm. Meph would have outlasted Galactus if Galactus hadn't done that. and this is coming from a Galactus fanboy.

Team 2 easily.Mephisto is not that powerful.Adam warlock with soul gem owned mephisto in his realm.Anyone on team 2 could stand to mephisto.Just plain spite against team 1.
