The bomb program in Germany was very rudimentary. And the US's population was way larger so I don't see how you can say Germany had more resources to call upon.
If we're speaking purely Britain, I think the US could have won but with greater losses (though Glenn Miller would probably still be alive). If you're talking US taking Germany by itself, never would've happened, especially considering how popular fascism and nazism was prior to 1941 among the economic elites (i.e. the business plot).
if the U.S. had to fight solo they dont get past the pacific.. japan,italy,germany and whoever else is sympathetic to hitler and his Reich would stop the good old U.S. of A. cold.
soon after we be fighting on american shores and i dont see the average american back then fighting tooth and nails till death, i see them signing a defeat/surrender treaty..
when the entire american population is militarized and are properly outfitted with weapons..
once the american military is destroyed its either fight and die or submit. a soldier is willing and it is his duty to die for his country a civilian may not be so inclined to do so especially if they can work out some kind of deal.
