Your Most Disliked Comic Characters....?

Started by Entity5 pages

Too obvious, but its interesting to see more people agree with me than normally seen.

Also Hal Jordan, has the greatest and potentially most powerful weapon in existence and uses it to make giant green balls. Batman's gotta hate him, I mean really really hate him. I bet Hal's the reason Bruce developed the Batjet!

"Ok so the heroes who can't fly get with Lantern and he'll carry you along to china, russia, japan, the watchtower on the moon, in space, whereever in his giant green balls!"

-Bruce thinks to himself after the endurment of one trip, **** this! lol

Seriously thou I hate Jordan for the same reason I hate Supes. He's jus a arrogant imaginationless tool who feels he's better than the others for believing he's not better than them. If that makes sense. I understand the attitude very well having endured it from my mother for years but can't really articulate it!

1. Daken, get oughta here with him. Never liked him to begin with, let alone the fact that he's still around.

2. Mac Gargan, knock it off with that, Eddie Brock is the best.

3. Sentry, just don't like the character. Seems too Superman-ish crossed with an emotional mess.

I have to say i don't mind Prime. He's the comic world's raging fanboy. He amuses.

Characters i don't like...

Lois Lane: If i was Superman i'd have punted the cow in to the sun already. I've met women like that irl, and they drive me up the wall. Lana, Lori Lemaris, Maxima, ANY WOMAN but Lois. Man deserves better.

Sentris: Bendis' Sentry. Took a half decent concept and tried to give Marvel a Superman, then absolutely ballsed it up by making him some sort of insane villain with the void.

Barry Allen: I didn't mind the guy before, but sweet jesus, the wankery of this guy has just gone out the window, which strikes me as lunacy considering he was gone over twenty years, and he's just accepted back, sidelining Wally (who imo is the best Flash) for no good reason except that Johns loves him. At least when he brought back Hal, there was an actual genuine reason for giving him the spotlight.

And the Blue Ring. FFS... facepalm

Kyle Rayner:

Kidding. He's all right. No Hal, but who is.

1. Sentry, I might have actually liked Sentry but for the fact that his writers try way too hard to make him interesting and "not a Superman-clone" when they'll never be able to escape that paradigm.

2. King Chimera. Need I really go into it?

3. Norman Osbourne.

Gambit.

Everything about him from his long spiked up hair to his magenta armour, his trenchcoat and the fact that he wields playing cards and a staff as a weapon....

It's like someone took everything they considered cool in the 90's and made a bad character out of it. Crime against fashion and my eyesight.

But he's Cajun! 😛

Superman just because the element of suspense in every big event he's in is ruined by default. - The event will end by superman's actions. or at least he is going to play the most important role

That doesn't appear to be the case in Blackest Night which is kinda odd since he'd be the most likely candidate in my eyes for the deputy Blue Lantern position. Sure Barry can inspire hope but is there really another character who inspires more hope than Superman?

He looked like Johnny Depps Willy Wonka in X-men origins: Wolverine

1.) Penance. Never have I encountered a character so utterly worthy of a punch to the face. The guy never stopped crying about how bitterly unfair his life was. Give me a friggin' break.

2.) Sentry. He had a good start, then came the exceptionally emo "save me from myself" premise. Sofakingstupid.

3.) Recently even Deadpool has started getting on my nerves. He has quite literally turned into nothing more then a comic relief... We get it, he's got cheeky little quips about everything. Less talkie, please.

Umm have to think about what characters I dont like. IMO its up to bad writing and fanboys/haters that makes a character really bad or not. Times a character just sucks no matter what.

👆 How could I forget Daken, what a lame-ass.

wow an exception...
there are those too.
but I guess if we start counting DC arks where superman saved the day we'd need a couple of pages

Well as seen in FC Superman is the single most important concept in the DCU.

Apocalypse
Vulcan
Emo-Prime
Black Panther, depending on the writer
Punisher

Have to admit when I saw this thread I didn't think or couldn't remember who I disliked off the top of my head, but I'll second the votes for a lot of the characters already on here, and add a few more that I've just now remembered as I write this post, *live*.

Barry Allen - The Speed Force turned plot device. You see this guy and you think, "the speed force needs to be depowered for the sake of sanity". Don't get me started on his "Flash Facts".

Conduit - I hate these villains with no redeeming qualities that just happen to have all the weaknesses of a character. You know they should be getting their ass handed to them, but nooo our hero "must... fight... gold kryptonite...". He's the ugly side of Pre crisis characters revisited (btw Barry is too).

Sentry - because of the low self-esteem Bob crap and the from-left-field Void bs. It's like Marvel are looking for reasons to make the character uninteresting, but we know they want the opposite. The guy is supposed to be a classic hero, what happened to that Marvel?

Vulcan - he's a douche.

1- Mxy/Deadpool/Bat-mite: I donn't like when a character enter in the 4th wall.

2- First year Rulk. Now that Pak work with him as a writer, Loeb don't do insane shit. Well, not too insane.

But the first year of Rulk was a fiasco.

3- Wonder Woman: I find her useless.

1). SUPERMAN

2). Cyclops

3). Green Arrow

Same here with Wonder Woman coming in a close fourth.

I hate Superman because DC makes powers up for him just for a good showing. They take the fantasy to a whole new level with this character.

Wolverine gets hate because he's been in every book Marvel has written since the early 80's and most of the stuff he does is out of his character in my opinion. Come on,,,he's a street leveler. I honestly think he would be more interesting without his claws.

Flash? I used to love this character when all he did was run fast and maybe vibrate through a wall or two. Now, he's just ridiculous. If I hear that a DC team wins automatically on the versus threads just because Flash is on the team one more time, i'm going to puke.

Other than Torquasm-vo (which isn't in continuity now IIRC) I can't really think of any time that's happened since the Crisis.
