the exorcist: elia kazan reference?
probably sounding like a fool here, but does anybody know what's meant with the reference of elia kazan in 'the exorcist', when kinderman mentions him to karras somewhen in the end?
I also welcome any link to any forum out there where this might have been discussed before.

Elia Kazan mentioned in Exorcist
Because of the movie he directed "on the waterfront" with Marlon Brando
A priest against great odds doing good. But also in conflict over the life he could have lived, if he'd lived mainstream. He would have money for his mother. So check out the story line on that movie it won 8 awards.
Also I think Kazan had died by the time this movie was released, meaning it was a message from God or Merrin to keep going.he was winning.
