Star Wars, ever so slightly > LOTR, by a good margin > Matrix still kicks ass.

Not so easily... don't forget Star Wars and The Matrix Trilogy.

Oh, btw, as far as hate goes... Michael Bay.

LOTR is far more epic in scale and feell and has better acting overall, so these are points in its favor over the other two. The original Star Wars trilogy comes close, but the Matrix is not really in the same ballpark. The first movie I enjoyed; the second was okay. The third's ending was just rubbish.

Matrix as a solo film was amazing. As a trilogy, not so much.As for Star Wars, an argument could be made

I guess I didn't like the Messiah angle the third film pushed, and the Colonel Sanders clone just made the plot harder to grasp. I personally advocated the fan theory that Zion and the 'real-world' was just another part of the program, and this would explain Neo's powers. However, this is explicitly not the case, and the films are weaker for it.

The Matrix trilogy has far more interesting ideas and philosophy. Makes it much richer to watch again and again, which I have. The argument could also be made that LOTR is too damn long and drawn-out. Don't get me wrong, LOTR is entertaining, but I've found The Matrix to be far richer with ideas. It's a very different experience. I actually watched both trilogies fairly recently and The Matrix really struck me as a very different set of films now that I've grown up a bit. That and knowing everything in advance makes you question everything, which becomes extremely fascinating.

But then again, I'm much more of a Sci-Fi person as opposed to Fantasy...

Lord of the Rings is way better than those two though.

The Matrix Trilogy is a mindless beatfest that pretends to be something more. It has some really good fight scenes though so I accept that.

Harry Potter as the número uno with Lotr a second in terms of epic fantasy.

As someone who was a philosophy major in college, the Matrix is extremely amateur when it comes to philosophy and none of its ideas are truly original, except when it came to cinematography. While I grant you that it is a good sci-fi film, there were too many questions and it did not wrap itself up well.

However, Cloud Atlas was far superior, but it was not written by the Wachowskis, only partially directed by them. Cerebrally, the bar is much higher.

Star Trek was pretty average , I like Star Wars think it was more appealing to my generation any way

Harry Potter all of them ,Twilight all of them ,Resident Evil 4-5.
Avatar is phuckin overrated.

The Anchorman movies just totally sucked.

The Hangover trilogy.

Corniest films ever created

That movie where rainn wilson plays a real life superhero...Its so stupid i won't ever bother looking up the name of the piece on trash

Dragon Ball Evolution... im currently saving up money to purchase enough plane tickets so i can kick the ever loving shyt out of everyone involved in that film

Aside from Twilight, I can't say that I agree with you.

YOU ARE DEAD TO ME.

I remember leaving the first Hangover trying to make myself laugh with my friend, because I couldn't genuinely. No idea why those films were so popular.

I never did like the series & yet I've watched all 3 just out of sheer boredom. Got a chuckle here & there but as a general rule, not really my cup of tea...
