You underestimate how crazy Silver age Supes was.

SilverSupes sneezes and accidently destroys Thanos along with a few galaxies. In order to bring the galaxies back he just flies very fast around the remains a few times. Then he uses the superfart (which is the DC equivalent of the ultimate nullifier) on Thanos` corpse.

Superman round house kicks Thanos so hard his head falls off

The problem with pc Supes, is he has too many exploitable weaknesses. The magic Thanos knows should be sufficient..

As powerful as Supes was in this era, he isn't insta defeating someone who survived Omega, Galactus, and The Maker, before he could respond with draining his solar energy or something.

Now, if this was pre crisis Black Adam. Thanos would be in trouble. 😄

The new Sorcerer Supreme beat him too.

Thankfully, Doom isn't half as bad as Jobberseid, but he does get jobbed out from time to time.

The Doom style Asgardian Destroyer was awesome though. Considering all he's gained from dissecting Asgardians and cannibilizing their tech, I'd say Doom had a Xanatos Gambit going on, considering he still came out ahead..

I don't consider loosing to more power opponents jobbing...😉
