Top 10 Most Powerful Dark Jedi/Sith

Dooku wasn't in his prime, so although he was stronger, more skilled and more matured in his power, he needed to expend more of it just to remain on a even keel with Anakin than Anakin did. The novel also shows he was actively replenishing himself on Force reserves and relying more heavily on those reserves just to keep fighting. While Anakin just got stronger and stronger. Eventually he was in a position where Anakin could kill him literally just by wanting to.

The same argument could be made for Yoda. He just reached the point were he had no hope of victory by continuing the fight due to simply losing on attrition, which is why he just cuts and runs.

😄 thanks for the assist....what he said!

And to note, Anakin was fueling himself with the Force in the week between arriving on Coruscant and his fall. He hadn't been eating or sleeping. Physical prowess mattered.

"Skywalker was all over him. The shining blue lightsaber whirled and spat and every overhand chop crashed against Dooku's defense with the unstoppable power of a meteor strike; the Sith Lord spent lavishly of his reserve of the Force merely to meet these attacks without being cut in half, and Skywalker was getting stronger. Each parry cost Dooku more power than he'd used to throw Kenobi across the room; each block aged him a decade. He decided he'd best revise his strategy once again. He no longer even tried to strike back. Force exhaustion began to close down his perceptions, drawing his consciousness back down to his physical form, trapping him within his own skull until he could barely even feel the contours of the room around him; he dimly sensed stairs at his back, stairs that led up to the entrance balcony. He retreated up them, using the higher ground for leverage, but Skywalker just kept on coming, tirelessly ferocious."

The underlined gives a nice visual testament as to how much power Dooku was expelling vs. Anakin.

i should read more eu. i liked the way that was written.

Yes, it was written by Stover. Yes, he also wrote Shatterpoint. Yes, you should follow the recommendation.

Dooku was in his prime. Sure he may not have been as fit as when he was young but he never had such mastery with the force. Regardless, Dooku's saber style hardly required him to be in perfectly fit condition to use effectively.
Need I remind you of AotC
YODA: Powerful you have become, Dooku. The dark side I
sense in you.

COUNT DOOKU: I have become more powerful than any Jedi.
Even you, my old Master.

Yea, that wasn't true 🙂 Sith get so full of themselves.

RotS novel was one of the best Star Wars books. Right behind Crystal Star.

There are some others who I'm not sure about, like Gethzeron, UnuThul and Abeloth, but thats pretty much it. Also Kar Vastor, if he counts.

What do you mean by (not Galen Marek)

Post getting blitzed by Sidious?

I say you could pick any one of the ancient Sith Lords and they'd be Number 1... if it wasn't for other ancient Sith, of course. Kun, Revan, Nihilus, Traya and Ruin were certainly extremely powerful. Bane, Zannah, Sidious, Yoda, Mace and Luke were pretty powerful, although I don't see Yoda beating, say, Arca Jeth or Vodo Siosk-Baas or Odan-Ur, and even Zannah (who at least learned some Sith sorcery) would have to fall to Revan.

So, hard to say, really. Unfortunately we don't know the names of many of the ancient Sith Lords who are described as being able to conquer death and had much forgotten knowledge of the Force.

This post is infallible and truthful in the greatest sense of the words. Never before have facts been laid out so thoughtfully and meaningfully. It's also totally not fat.

As noted, the terrificness content is high.

i think its interesting that we have all taken the don't even reply tact, without even coordinating it first.

What is there to reply to?

There are a bunch of assertions but not a lot of facts. It might be interesting if someone would condescend to assert the opposite, but I'm gonna wait for this guy to actually make an argument before evaluating him.

This is an example of what Colbert would call "truthiness".
