i know sentry can manipulate energy to an extant... i seen him charge tony's armor.. hold back energy absorption from others trying to steal energy and powers from him...

has he ever actually drained anyone b4?

if so i can see that being a viable option...

Superman holds back too much which i see him losing giving others the chance needed to apply deadly measures which would usually be their 1st recourse

he'd still need to cut him off from the sun, as Superman can recharge pretty quickly.

even with CIS on, Superman still has the full capacity rule in effect. Plus, against more than a few villains, Superman has shown the willingness to use his powers creatively instead of just slugging it out.
